ABOUT THE BIKE

This is a Norton International 30M garden gate model with a Manx frame from new and has matching numbers verified by the Norton owners club and have that paper work from the club. Sold new in April 1948 by Copes of Dudley a renowned Norton race group/dealer at that time. Manx frame, road holder forks, baffled aluminium bolt through tank, remote rubber mounted tacho, the correct 10tt9 carb and Borianni lightweight rims.
The bike was restored over 20 years ago by Stu Rogers and in 2006 the bike had a new big end, barrel liner and slipper piston (standard). The flywheel assembly was rebuilt and balanced all by Stu Rogers renowned Norton engineer.
Since then new cams and followers , new cam shaft slotted bush, new top and bottom bevel housing bushes and compresion rings all replaced with supporting invoices.
More recently a new solid state regulator, clutch friction plates, front and back brake shoes and a correct silencer all replaced. Much of all this work is historical but the bike has not covered many miles since.
This is my own bike which I have owned for five years occasionally ridden but immensly enjoyed always started easily often first kick and very capabile of keeping up with modern traffic.
There is a host of paper work, and supporting invoices a original spare parts book which is rare and instruction book.
Just to add the previous owner, owned the bike for over 20 years and in that time rode a lot of international rallies and covered around 6500 miles so a reliable and trusted machine.
